Quiz app expansion
Project description
Ludenso is a Norwegian edtech startup, creating learning tools based on AR technology. I have previously worked with them to create a platform for enriching books with AR content, which can be experienced in mobile AR (through a smartphone app).
This project was focused around expanding on the existing app with gamification elements, to increase user engagement. After multiple workshops and discussions around how to gamify the product, the team landed on the concept of creating a quiz integrated in the existing app. The target audience for this project was students in primary school.



Mapping out the system and key features
In this project, I worked closely together with an expert within gamification to create an engaging quiz system, which would encourage the students to learn. Early on, it was imporatant to define the key aspects of the quiz system - how would questions be structured, what types of questions would be used, and which other features should we prioritize?

Wireframing
After mapping out the system, wireframes were made to better visualize the core flow, as well as enabling early testing. This allowed us to identify and fix gaps in the user experience before investing a larger amount of time.

Visual direction
For this concept, we wanted a visual concept that had a foundation in the original app, but still felt like its own thing.
A broad exploration was done into mobile games, and similar mobile solutions. Based on this, a set of concepts was created and discussed with the team.

Delivery
After deciding how the flow should work, I focused on fleshing out the prioritized gamification elements. Finally, high fidelity screens and prototypes were made to make a smooth handover to the developers. This delivery also included animations for a variety of interactions, such as completing a quiz, getting a streak, using power ups etc.
